Alice in Wonderland

Bibliography: Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll myth-folklore-unit-alice-in-wonderland.html

One day Alice was siting outside of her sisters workplace and she was very bored. She began to get very very tired and started to doze off. But before she could completely fall asleep she saw a rabbit running by. He was wearing a coat and then pulled a clock out of his jacket to check the time. Alice was very confused and curious to see what the rabbit was doing. She had never seen a rabbit do this before. She was so curious that she began to follow the rabbit. The rabbit went down into a rabbit hole. So she followed him into this hole. She started to fall and realized that she was falling for a very long time. When she was falling she saw many of objects. She saw a closet, some maps and paintings, and different types of foods. She was falling for what felt like an hour until she finally hit the ground. To her surprise she felt completely fine. She looked around to see what her next step was. She saw many doors but found that all of them were locked. She kept looking around and found a table in the middle of the room. She found a key on this table. She tried using the key on multiple doors but it didn't work. She finally found the door it worked on which was a tiny door that she could not get through. She started to get very upset. Then she came across a little potion that said drink me. So she drank it. She waited a minute and realized that she was shrinking. she was so small that she was finally the size of the door. But then she remembered the key was on the table. She got very sad and started to cry again. she cried and cried that it began to turn into an ocean. And she finally got out of where she was because all the water bursted the doors open.

Here is a picture of Alice holding the potion that she drank to make her shrink.

Authors note: This story follows the original story of Alice in Wonderland. I just included the first part to the story. Everything was the same as the original except for the ending to this section. I included the part that happens in the Disney movie of Alice in Wonderland, where she cries so much that is gets her out of her troubles.

  1. Hi Sophie! Alice in Wonderland, in any form or version, is always one of my favorite stories to read. I think my favorite is the more recent one with Johnny Depp but that could be because I love ever movie that he's in haha. I like that you summarized the original version but included some of the more important details. The ending that you included is one of my favorites out of all the versions.

  2. Hi Sophie!

I love the image you chose for this story. It's so brightly colored and pretty and it really caught my attention. As to the story itself, it was really refreshing to be able to read something so familiar. The only thing that I would suggest is adding more detail about the rabbit and what Alice experiences. Adding more detail will really ground your readers in the story. Great work!
