Brer Rabbit

Bibliography: Brer Rabbit by Joel Chandler Harris brer-rabbit-uncle-remus-initiates.html

Brer Fox was trying to catch Brer Rabbit and Beer Rabbit was doing all he could to try to get away from Brer Fox. Beer Fox told Brer Rabbit that Brer Bear wanted them be friends so Brer Rabbit told Brer Fox to come over the next night for dinner. Miss Rabbit cooked up all of the best food she had for him. Brer Rabbit went out his door to see if Fox was coming but saw the end of his tail hiding. So Brer Fox said that he wasn't feeling well and asked for Brer Rabbit to bring the food to him. Brer Fox was pretending to be sick to catch Brer Rabbit but Brer Rabbit outsmarted him and got away as fast as he could and Brer Fox could not catch him.

Brer Fox was planning on playing a trick on Brer Rabbit. He put a tar-baby in the road to see if Brer Rabbit would stop to see it and a few minutes later there was Brer Rabbit seeing if the tar-baby was okay. He was talking to it but there was no response. Brer Rabbit got frustrated that it wasn't saying anything so he struck him and got his hand stuck and then did the other hand and that one got stuck too. Then he did the same with his feet and his head and they were all stuck. Then Brer Fox came out and laughed at Brer Rabbit.

Brer Possum and Brer Coon were hanging out and they decided to go for a stroll to check on their settlement. While out they heard Mr. Dog in the woods. Mr. Dog came running at them to catch them and Brer Possum fell straight to the ground acting dead. The next day Brer Possum went to see Brer Coon but Brer Coon said he doesn't hang out with cowards and that made Brer Possum angry. Brer Possum told him that he was very ticklish and thats why he pretended to be dead when the time came.
